Missed my goal of sub11 by 3 seconds, finished at 11:00:02. Nice to meet bro Will from DC and bro Winston from the ATL.

Hey brother Carlton, congrats on racing IMFL!
I liked Beach2Battleship. It was my 2nd year doing this race, though I'm not sure if I'll do it again; at least for a few years. I'm registered for IM Switzerland for 2010. I don't think the old body can handle 2 IMs in a year.
I think the best thing about B2B is the swim. You swim in the Intercoastal Waterway, which is basically a big channel so its easy to stay on course. Also since its a point to point swim you only have a couple of turns and don't have to worry about rounding buoys. The biggest thing though is the current. They set the date to coincide w/ the tidal change so you get a tremendous current push. I read reports where people claim its greater than 1 knot. I had a 54 minute swim there compared to a 1:18 swim at IMWI.
Logistically its a bit tricky since the transitions are at different locations, but they do an excellent job at keeping it orgainized. Also there is a bit of a wait (30-60mins) to catch the water taxi or trolley to get you back over the Wilmington river at the finish. Its tough to find parking at the finish. I've got to give big ups to my wife as she got to the finish around 10 in the morning in order to secure a park and waited out there all day until I finished around 6PM.
I recommend it. Great swim, flat bike, and nice crowds on the run. Enjoy your post IMFL recovery, you earned it.
Peace, Rob

Tremendous result! Congratulations.
I'd like to hear how you enjoyed the event. I did my 1st IM in Florida the same day and I'm trying to figure out the next 140.6 to do next year.
